Blood flow and circulation improve digestion.
*Tip: Take a walk after a meal! Exercise allows gas to pass through the digestive tract more quickly.

Do what you like to do but do it every day for at least 20 minutes ... get your blood flow and circulation moving. Frequent exercise helps keep the intestines moving properly.

Don't neglect your abdominals, just a few abdomen exercises a week can help tone the weak muscle around your stomach, making bloat less noticeable.

The Menu Plan Explained
The Beat the Bloat™ Menu Plan is designed around combining foods properly which will help prevent bloating, but still allow you to eat your favorite foods, combined properly so that you do not bloat. You will feel light and energenic!

You will note that you may have:

Proteins & Vegetables - Example: Eggs, use whole eggs, egg whites or egg substitutes/Chicken/Lean Meat/Fish with vegetables (steamed or sautéed) and salads.

Please note for the purpose of this menu plan, potatoes are considered a starch.

Starch & Vegetables - Example: Baked potato with vegetables and/or salad.

Carbohydrates & Vegetables - Example: Whole grain bread with
lettuce/tomato/avocado
Wild Rice with steamed vegetables
Light pasta with sautéed vegetables


Fats: Olive Oil/Canola Oil - Example: Light Pasta with Olive Oil/Garlic/Basil (herbs of your choice) and steamed vegetables.

Beat the Bloat™ Tip: Green leafy vegetables have the highest percentage of water and are the easiest to digest, however, if you add dressings that are high in cream and/or saturated oils, the time of digestion will increase.

Salad Dressings: Olive Oil/Garlic/Lime juice/pepper
Balsamic Vinaigrette – Olive oil/balsamic vinegar/chopped thyme/chopped basil/salt & vinegar.
Herb-dill dressing Olive oil/ red wine vinegar/water/dill/garlic/mustard and onion.
 
Tip for Sautéed Vegetables – sauté them in Olive oil with chopped garlic and a dash of turmeric.
Fruits - Are best taken without other foods in the morning as breakfast or as a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack. 30 minutes prior to a meal or 3 hours after.

Dairy - Yogurt, plain fat-free

Cheese - (fat-free or low-fat) American, cheddar, cottage cheese 1 -2 % or fat-free, feta, mozzarella, ricotta

Nuts - Almonds (15), Walnuts (10), Cashews (15), Macadamia (8)

All Spices & Seasonings

Drinks – Water, Coffee, Tea, beverages of your choice. Try and avoid carbonated beverages, they cause bloating, especially with meals.
Boosting your water intake can do wonders for your health. Water helps flush waste out of your system and flush the sodium out of your body.
TIP: For Period "Puffiness", experts agree that taking at least 500 mg daily of magnesium and 1000 mg daily of calcium, is proven to reduce menstrual water retention.
